Al Kobaisi Group of Companies, whose founder and Chairman is Mr. Essa Mubarak Al Kobaisi, initially started business as a construction company in the year 1972. Today, it employs over 300 personnel and its activities include construction and maintenance, manufacturing, real estate, general trading, automotives, retailing, travel & tourism and media production and distribution with an annual turnover of over US $ 27 million. Mr. Abdulla Essa Al Kobaisi, a graduate in Engineering studies, with over two decades of experience in running and growing the business, is the Managing Director and is actively involved in the daily operations of the various companies.

Al Kobaisi Group's Head Office is located in Sitra Industrial Area. Al Kobaisi Construction & Maintenance has been involved in various housing projects in the Kingdom. In the past five years, this division has successfully completed contracts in excess of US $ 20 million. The completed 84-villa project located in Arad was an enormous success boasting the gratified clienteles as to the quality and price. Following the struggle in construction was born the Al Kobaisi Readymix. Its 1st batching plant was erected in 1986 at the Entrance 1 of the Sitra Industrial Area and with the latest plant at the Hidd Industrial Area are allowing Al Kobaisi Readymix to batch and supply 2,000 m³ daily and meet day and night requirements of target-focused contractors. Having a fleet of 50 mixer trucks, 15 mobile concrete pumps, 5 stationary pumps, 3 batching plants and with all the hardworking and qualified manpower, Al Kobaisi Readymix has been continuously the leading readymix concrete supplier in the Kingdom with its quality guaranty at all times having its own quality control department. While the lately erected and operational block factory located at Hidd Industrial Area, Al Kobaisi Block Factory is equipped with the most recent technology in the block-making industry. It has a production capacity of 1 million blocks monthly ranging from different thickness of blocks, insulated and non-insulated ones, paving bricks that come in various designs, kerbstones, split stones and colored blocks. Fully-automated German-made technology, Al Kobaisi block-making plant is the 1st in the Kingdom and the 2nd in GCC. The blocks are put into stringent tests at its own Material Testing Laboratory. Supporting the concrete manufacture of the Group is the Al Kobaisi Sand & Aggregate Washing Plant at Eker which is also catering requirements of other companies. Completing the construction activity is the Al Kobaisi Aluminium & Glass Factory. It is currently doing jobs for different contractors for schools, ministry buildings and housing projects. It has also its own electrical contracting department and carpentry workshop. Maintaining the large fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment of the Group is the Al Kobaisi Mechanical Workshop. Al Kobaisi Group is offering its heavy machinery, equipment and vehicles for rental, as well. Another division of the Al Kobaisi Group is the Al Kobaisi Motors having its showroom opposite to Sitra Mall offering lease-to-own scheme for new and used cars to all nationalities with less-hassle processing and documentation and no salary transfer required. It also caters requirement of companies for trucks and heavy machineries applying the same method. Al Kobaisi Travel & Tours, an IATA accredited agent, established in August 2003 operates as reservation and ticketing agent and also offers inbound and outbound tour packages. In line with the hospitality industry, Al Kobaisi Group has a car rental division having outlet at the Bahrain International Airport open 24/7 offering self-driven and chauffeur driven cars, limousine transfers, small to luxury cars, mini-vans and buses. Completing the hospitality business, the Group is soon to open its hotel-apartment in Sanabis, located between Dana Mall and the Bahrain International Exhibition Center.
